Petra tou Nicola
Our holiday villa in Cyprus
Neil and I have been working hard to renovate my late parents' home in the beautiful hilltop village of Droushia. Cyprus is a stunning country with fantastic weather and lots to do - from walking, cycling, swimming, bird watching and horse-riding; or just sitting, relaxing, sunbathing and eating/drinking. There are many world heritage sites to explore, fantastic restaurants, wineries, wonderful beaches, gorgeous coastlines, the Troodos Mountains, and small harbours offering boat trips to isolated sea lagoons for snorkeling.
About the villa
Our villa is called Petra tou Nicola, meaning Rock of Saint Nicholas, as it sits amongst a large grouping of rock outcrops. The area is popular for rock climbing. The house offers panoramic sea and mountain views and extensive countryside walks over the Akamas Nature Reserve right from the house.
The villa has WiFi, AC and central heating, so is comfortable for all seasons. There are three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a comfortable lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, a big pool and garden, multiple terraces and it is very private and quiet. It is on the outskirts of the hilltop village of Droushia, which has several traditional Cypriot tavernas, a lovely cafe bistro, a small grocery shop, a museum, and even boasts two family-run local cheese making factories. Our local winery, Vasilikon Winery, is in an adjacent village.
You will need a car as the village is 40 minutes from Paphos Airport. Cyprus has good roads and luckily they drive on the same side as in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. Unfortunately for our Canadian and European friends - it's the other side of the road to you.

Property history
Lucy’s parents purchased the property in 1999 when there was nothing on the land except the house and pool. The garden was planted entirely by Lucy’s father to be treed and beautiful, but also ‘waterwise’, so that plants were selected that could grow without much watering. We have recently renovated the property and now want to share it with others.
